How much will it cost to remove my tree?

It depends on several factors including:

  • Location: A tree in an open area will cost less to remove than one grown over a house.
  • Size: Large trees obviously take longer to take down and haul away.
  • Equipment: If a tree removal needs a crane or lift that gets worked into the cost.
  • Risk: A dead tree has to be removed very carefully. Often they cost more to remove than live trees.
  • Time: Staff are paid an hourly rate, so things that slow crews down such as steep hills or narrow access effect the prices quoted.
  • To sum it up: We usually drop by to take a look at the tree and its location, then make a custom quote for each job. Many “average” trees (say around 50 ft tall and maybe over a fence on one side) run about $1,200 to remove, but with no two trees the same removals run from a couple hundred to over five thousand dollars!

Does your tree need to be removed???

Here are some things to look for that would indicate that your tree could be dangerous .

  • Obviously if it is dead… No leaves, and twigs dry and falling off.
  • Peeling bark or large cracks
  • Splits at limb unions
  • Mushrooms growing on the trunk
  • Significant dead branches
  • Signs that the trunk is hollow
  • Heaving ground around one side of tree/tree starting to lean

Sometimes trees can actually be hazardous even if they look ok. If you aren’t sure, book a free consultation. Sometimes removal is the solution, other times we can trim out damaged parts in order to save the rest of the tree.

“They carefully avoided damage to close fences and underlying plants were barely disturbed.”
